I never expected the market to be so absolute

ie nothing - not one fraction of a scent - is given on the basis of potential or clear progress towards a goal or good science or anything of that nature

maybe this is a kind of inverse snobbery - until you have everything, you are allowed nothing - if you make such claims for a technology across an entire industry, with a potential share price of...hundreds of dollars...OK, then you must sit at rock bottom
until the first sale is made..

and there is nothing in between...NOTHING
