The only way AMR shareholders were saved was so many AMR pilots had their retirement in AMR stock, and a deal was struck else all their pilots would have lost all they put in retirement. It was a business decision, not to do that to their pilots. The debt holders agreed to carry some debt through the bankruptcy to save the commons. Almost no one foresaw that outcome. I didn't. Is there some kind of magic bullet like that which could save ARO commons? Do you see something? I don't.
