Here is a quote about "Southwest Energy Exploration" that appeared in the Texas Observer:

Oklahoma state corporate records show that Faulkner started an energy company, Southwest Energy Exploration LLC, in 2004, and in 2010 changed its name to Breitling Oil and Gas LLC. But Texas Secretary of State records show Breitling Oil and Gas Corp. was founded in Dallas in 2009. Faulkner told the Observer that he started to spend all his time working on Breitling in 2008.

It seems that Faulkner started working full time with at Breitling in 2008. Let's see, 2015-2008 = 7 years. The OK SOS mentions the name change of Southwest Energy Exploration, LLC and if the Texas Observer is right, Breitling Oil and Gas, LLC came into existence in 2010. So if you want to play the name game it would be: 2015-2010 = 5 years.

Then there is the strange press release that Breitling Oil and Gas, Inc. purchased the properties of Southwest Energy Exploration in 2009, a company that was founded in 2004 and later changed its name to Breitling Oil and Gas.

I searched for Southwest Energy Exploration on the OK SOS site and came up with this:

Now if you click on the "Filing Number," Breitling Oil and Gas, LLC comes up.

So this is what I think happened and may be able to confirm it later if I get bored.

Southwest Energy Exploration was formed and run by CF in 2004. It came into existence and was terminated a few times then was purchased by Breitling Oil and Gas, Inc. in late 2009 to early 2010 (according the to press release). In 2010, Southwest Energy Exploration changed its name to Breitling Oil and Gas, LLC, at the time or shortly thereafter that it was purchased by Breitling Oil and Gas, Inc.

There was no Oklahoma Breitling until after Texas Breitling was established. The earliest that there was a Breitling Oil and Gas was 2009. Yes, as I said many times, CF had been in the oil business for about 10 years (though I now know there were gaps and he was not full time until 2008). Southwest Energy Exploration was a separate company that was bought by Breitling Oil and Gas, Inc. after negotiating the purchase. Unless Breitling Oil and Gas, Inc. negotiated with itself and contracted with its own management to remain for five years, the companies were distinct both in name and management.

I will admit, that this is convoluted and strange considering the press release. Perhaps there was a different Southwest than the one that became Breitling Oil and Gas in 2010, but I could not find it.

I am sure reaper has been fully aware of this for years and will sort it out for us. But if you believe CF, Breitling was founded in April 2003 not 2004. After doing this research, I am going to say Breitling Oil and Gas has been around since 2009 when the first company by that name showed up. If someone wants to include the Southwest Energy period, that's fine and reasonable, but an explanation for why Breitling didn't mention the connection in 2009 would be in order.
