Spookytrades, it is possible that you are unfamiliar with these types of sites, and how this is a very good way to kick start a product to get attention. Do you not think this is a great mini Experiment to show proof that the product itself can sell?
Do you not think a potential large investor might now say...shit they have 20 million plus cash, went to a site and within 24 hours sold X. imagine what they can do when they put the entire business plan to action.
Try to consider this method of launching a product the new Modern way of not only introducing a product to the market place, but also the large investors. Its attractive, its accepted and most important its a great mini proof of a hypothesis of, can we sell this, is our pricing model acceptable, do people have a need for it and do people see value in this product.
