I think you are overestimating users' ability to implement a workaround. Sure, there are probably forums flooded with people searching for, and finding workarounds. No matter what you do in a situation like this, savvy users will be able to find a workaround. However, the vast majority of the user base will not be equipped to implement a workaround even if they were pointed to it. Even if they can, it is a royal pain for them to do so. Either way, the injunction is going to inflict the pain that is intended. I'm just surprised Yahoo was willing to go down that path given their current situation. Let's also be clear that this was Yahoo's decision to inflict this upon their users. They may want to paint MARA as the bad guy, but they stole IP and have chosen to make their users pay for it.
