I've put off upgrades for about 18 months now as I was on the
AMD/Intel treadmill waiting for products to come out. And waiting
and waiting, etc.

My home desktop costs me about 7 minutes to boot up in the morning and I spend a lot of time on it when working from home
and the HP's standby hardware and software is very good now so
this thing should save me time each day.

I typically bring my laptop to and from the office every day
and set it up at home and work which takes a few minutes and,
of course, requires booting up. The new desktop should save me
time everyday and allow me to use my laptop more as a laptop. I
will use a common external drive to keep things synchronized.

So this desktop is going to save me at least 30 minutes a week
and probably some power (I normally leave the Dell on all the time, even if I leave the house - the HP systems I can just standby).

I would imagine that there are many other purchasers that have
delayed purchases of AMD and Intel systems resulting in pent-up
demand. AMD for the price cuts and Intel for the new chips.
