In a sense I guess...but by that definition most OTC stocks have an ownership control that is indistinguishable from a "private" company.

This is one of the FUNDAMENTAL reasons OTC issues are BAD investments.

As much as some like to believe that the "insiders" interest is aligned with the common retail shareholders interest...IT IS NOT. Not even close.

And that is why, almost without fail, ANYONE who looks at an OTC issue as an investment ultimately loses...without fail.

While one can make money TRADING them...it is pretty much a given that the "investor" minded will lose because they are "strong hands", "all in", "long term"....etc. etc. They hold too long. And that is what insiders and smart traders hope for.
