From the company - “we first developed this product in 2006 when we sold it as the “biobox” that was made for us under contract through Sequiam East, a company we  acquired. It was our original design and initially used the Authentec swipe sensor. It was approved by the DOJ as a handgun safe. The product you are referring to is a Chinese knock off - which we have already successfully prevented from being distributed in North America. Doesn’t mean that the Chinese won’t try to sell it, but we have stopped it from being sold through distributors. None of the major retailer will carry any other company version if this product. If you try to bring one here, customs may stop you, or you will be hit with a cease and desist from the company.  We have also upgraded the finger sensor technology which is now more accurate and easier to use since we reduced the sensitivity of the reader so more people can use it without issue.  We have a new version that we will be releasing in a few months that adds Wifi, bluetooth and RF communications as well as a new sensor.
