If the first therapy does not cure disease xthe treatment is considered failed and the patient goes on to the the next one.

Do you have a link for this? Not that it matters....cancer in many cases is considered terminal, which by definition means it is incurable....However that doesn't mean it can't be treated and that chemo is sometimes successful in shrinking tumors.

Chemo may be used to shrink tumors before surgery or radiation. It may be used after surgery or radiation to help kill any cancer cells that are left. It may be used with other treatments if the cancer comes back.
