"Trade Secrets are not required to be documented publicly"...but there's no reason for a public company to keep their EXISTENCE private. Making the details of a Trade Secret public would require that they be called something else.

I don't know that it's true and I don't want to get off track, but I've heard it often enough to believe it:
The Coke formula is a trade secret. Acknowledging that, which would be appropriate (actually necessary given its materiality) if true wouldn't be the same thing as divulging the formula.
No one is suggesting that NNVC would have to provide the details of a process that they deem to be a Trade Secret....if they have one. That's silly.
