Been reading that article about that other hailing app in Thailand.

Yes and the others are not done in Thailand. Yes is open/operating and the others could continue as long as they follow all the rules as WM does already.

This includes hiring official government registered motorcycle taxi drivers with registered motorcycles (yellow taxi plates), wearing official licensed vests (no branded jackets, etc.), and follow the mandated fares for motorcycle taxis (no undercutting fare structures to buy users and create demand) and respect the existing queue system by dispatching a motorcycle taxi from the queue nearest to the person hailing a motorcycle taxi.

BTW - Hailing rides in Bangkok from taxi queues is the norm. Not calling a company to come to your house.
