Interesting article, but I totally disagree with his long term assessment of investing in renewables. Anyone doing that is going to go the way of Solyndra: once the government subsidies dry up it is economically unsustainable.
"Renewable" resources are a misnomer, as most consume more energy than they provide. Hydrocarbons, on the other hand, are constantly being generated by the earth's mantle, and are more than sufficient to supply our energy needs, especially if we tap into nuclear as well...
