Isn't that exactly why it should be offered in an abuse deterrent formulation? Abusers can microwave the patch and suck up the gel with a needle and some water. Elites tech would eliminate the numbskulls getting high, on the pharmaceutical grade at least. It's a growing problem and something I hope Elite could address in the future.
