Yes, they are just doing a poster. But in reviewing the conference it doesn't look like they had a chance to do anything but a poster (meaning this is not a consolation prize, it must of been their intention) because the conference sessions are for educational training on pain management not for presenting latest studies or results. But having a poster puts them on the floor with a ton of pain management physicians walking around looking for something interesting to look at and talk about. This is there opportunity to familiarize physicians (granted only the ones that attend) with their soon to be available product. Presentations are better if your intent is to publish and have that paper viewable via the proceedings in the future. For what we need now (physicians to prescribe SequestOx) I think we are better off having a poster in which almost everyone who attends will have the opportunity to see and discuss with the authors over a presentation in a small room with 20 to 50 people. Business cards are also handed back and forth so they will have names to which they can send sales reps when the time is appropriate.
