May 12--Roseville-based solar power company Sunworks Inc. saw a strong gain in first-quarter revenue, enabling it to cut year-ago losses by more than $1 million.
On Wednesday, the company said it amassed revenue of $19.6 million from January to March, up nearly 250 percent from $5.7 million in the year ago period.
Sunworks' net loss, which totaled $1.4 million in the first quarter of 2015, was $378,000 in this year's initial quarter.
"Strong operational execution and market demand from both residential and commercial customers continue to drive solid financial results," CEO Jim Nelson said in a statement. "We delivered significant growth despite the loss of nearly 20 installation days due to inclement weather and seasonal trends which typically impact our first quarter."
