Company statement would not be accurate if the control arm had in fact outperformed or even tied the Bavi arm.

All the company said was that bavi performed as expected and the control dramatically out-performed. Clearly this leaves the possibility that the control so dramatically out-performed that it beat bavi's on target expected performance.
