This voter referendum was attempted in 2014 and failed to pass by 1.8%. I'm a resident and it was absolutely heartbreaking to see the loss be due to sparse voter turnout and a factually incorrect negative ad campaign by the opposition. The 2014 amendment would have been "looser" and would have enabled a medical market similar to California. This new rewritten amendment is "tighter" and offers less opportunities for private non-politically connected individuals to access the business opportunities available when prohibition ends.

Im getting PO'd all over again just thinking about the narrow loss... There were polls showing that it would pass well over the 60% supermajority threshold at this time before the 2014 election as well. I hope that the presidential election brings out more pro-cannabis voters because, IMO, the vote on Amendment 2 is 100x more important than the vote for Hillary or Trump.
