Intel can not upset their Wintel golden goose, no matter how many other golden geese are out there, without fundamentally changing their nature to the very core.

This may not be the issue you think it is.

Microsoft has been chasing the goose while wildly swinging an axe for
a few years now and has already drawn blood.

Intel should have started preparing for a post Windows world with the
Win8 debacle.
