Seriously, I don't believe in "true shit storm", "barter" theories, and "survival kits". It will never happen in America, at least for a couple generations. I see gold, silver, and platinum as "monetary metals" (read "money") that are artificially undervalued at this point. When World financial system gets re-balanced (and this can happen pretty soon) the real value of "monetary metals" will be revealed. I have survived several huge financial disasters in other countries, when most of the people went broke overnight, and there always was life after this... I mean "normal" or almost normal life. The humanity is not going to disappear if dollar becomes 10 times cheaper. Just some people will get 10 times poorer, and others manage to support their living standards. Not a big deal... if you belong to the second group.
