From a post on the TSLA board:

Is it legal to use customer deposits to pay down debt?

"The company used some of the $1,000 deposits submitted for Model 3 orders to help repay $350 million on its credit line after the quarter ended."

If Tesla pays off a large chunk of their credit line, and expenses are going to be 50 percent higher than previously projected (cash flow negative at year end); then perhaps diluted shares will be used to fund their expansion.



I have no knowledge to verify or otherwise on the above notion.
