I don't believe this was the subject of the post. The idea of holding beyond 12 months to escape capital gains tax is incorrect, period. Not trying to beat anyone up here, but as an auditor, I know we shouldn't be putting out false information such as this.

If you want to talk about IRAs then that is a different subject. I myself use IRAs as a GREAT tool.
