It's hard to believe an article could be so wrong by accident. Not only did they make the mistake that you caught, but there's this:
"A report published by Allied Market Research reveals that the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed, approximately 2,238,700 women had been diagnosed with the disease in 2012."

The number 2,238,700 doesn't appear anywhere on the WHO website according to their own Search feature. Obviously that level of frequency would likely have precluded the disease's consideration for Orphan Disease Designation which the company has, in fact, received.
Allied Market Research appears to emphasize the Market and go light on the Research. Take a look at the first line in their Report Overview, a report they are trying to peddle for about $4K/copy, and see how many women it says were diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012.

The WHO website actually says this (Caution...note the dateline of Geneva, 3 April 2003):
"Lung cancer is the most common cancer worldwide, accounting for 1.2 million new cases annually; followed by cancer of the breast, just over 1 million cases; colorectal, 940,000; stomach, 870,000; liver, 560,000; cervical, 470,000; esophageal, 410,000; head and neck, 390,000; bladder, 330,000; malignant non-Hodgkin lymphomas, 290,000; leukemia, 250,000; prostate and testicular, 250,000; pancreatic, 216,000; ovarian, 190,000; kidney, 190,000; endometrial, 188,000; nervous system, 175,000; melanoma, 133,000; thyroid, 123,000; pharynx, 65,000; and Hodgkin disease, 62,000 cases."

"The Orphan Drug Designation program provides orphan status to drugs and biologics which are defined as those intended for the safe and effective treatment, diagnosis or prevention of rare diseases/disorders that affect fewer than 200,000 people in the U.S., or that affect more than 200,000 persons but are not expected to recover the costs of developing and marketing a treatment drug."
