If Prince died from an overdose of prescription opioids, then unfortunately he may become an icon which would truly show how bad the problem is. A slow release probably would not have made a difference in his case, but something needs to be done to stem the tide. I am curious as to opinions as to how effective slow release would be anyway? Folks that are currently 'hooked' on opioids, will most likely find a way to get a fix, slow release won't help someone who is already truly addicted. I would suspect that it wold be more effective for newer patients that are starting a pain relief treatment. any thoughts?
