Intel hopes to establish an industry-wide consensus on USB Type-C replacing probably the oldest audio component.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) has now also joined Chinese tech firm LeEco to suggest that the USB Type-C connector is the future of mobile communication, which would be a logical step forward for the industry to finally dump the 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of the USB-C port.
