7:30 ET - Following yesterday's cooldown amid their run higher, US equities are poised to open little changed--though big caps are liable to lag. The Dow industrials has been the best performer of 2016, an atypical spot for an index which generally lags the broader market. But with uninspiring quarterly reports since Thursday's close from GE, Microsoft(MSFT) and Visa (V)--and an ugly one imminent from Caterpillar(CAT) --the blue chips may be feeling so today. S&P 500 futures are up 3 as oil is slightly higher and gold is hugging the flat line. Meanwhile, the dollar jumps 1% to Y110.50 and Treasurys are steady; the 10-year yield remains at 1.87%.
