In fact, lets take that analogy a step farther:

Totally feels like (I am) the orchestra on the deck of the Titanic- just whistling away on my violin while the ship is like sideways and 3/4 sunken with water pouring in all over....

However- the engine in this case- the "net profits"- are like a bilge pump working away beneath the decks that nobody seems to see.

Almost all the people have jumped in the water thinking this is definitely going to sink, some have drowned already- some have swum away. Others are still clinging to the side, and I'm still playing away on top, because I can hear the engine still running that bilge pump. Because I'm a musician, I can hear things others can't, the high pitched whine of the pump, ever so slightly increasing in speed. Others are simply watching the boat sink and screaming GET OFF GET OF, IT'S SINKING!!!

Now at some point the ship stops sinking, (something some people would argue just won't happen.) because at some point the engine starts picking up speed and even though the hole isn't getting any smaller in the side of the boat, the engine picking up speed (theoretically because Nelson and the guys are still below decks shoveling hard as they can and stronger all the time, convincing other people to come inside to shovel more "as he acquires" more help). So the ship, actually has already slowed it's rate of descent into the great wide blue to zero, or darn close to it.

Now at some point the people swimming around realize there is a ship there they can jump onto to "increase the likelihood of living better", as opposed to in the water- or "underwater" and they swim over and jump on board. The more people that get on board (investors), the more people Nelson has to help shovel coal and get the engine running faster- which in turn pumps out more water faster as the PPS rises.

Many sides to this argument however the analogy is pretty fun. Nelson needs to convince both acquisitions that his strategy is sound, as well as investors. If he can get either on board, it increases the likely hood that not only does the ship not sink, but also that others will see that the more people that get on board with this model, the faster and farther it resurfaces fully and sets sail into the sunset. Being on the boat at this time is still a risky proposition, however given the propensity for sharks to be in the water accompanied by the fact that I think the tickets are so cheap for this while it has the appearance of not being able to float make it a great place to be for those who are risk tolerant.

Should the boat suddenly pop out of the water it will certainly create waves. People will be shocked, amazed and will be clawing themselves back trying to get on before it leaves them behind, and the next time she makes port, people will be paying top dollar for tickets.
