Also, people don't realize that shorting ANY stock under $5 can be done....all the way down to sub-penny's. Most brokers don't allow it which is why most people don't know it's possible.
There are at least 4-5 brokers that allow shorting "penny stocks" ($5 and under) with as small as a $2,000 balance w/ margin capabilities. Not that margin will or should be used but for the ability to "borrow" the shares to take the "negative" position needed as a short.
Which brings me to one of the biggest hurdles, finding shares to short at those brokers. Most will now allow retail to short the highest risk stocks @ sub-penny levels. But under $2 and under $1 and less works just fine w/ those brokers.
