stck,

<<The USPTO and Fed circuit of appeals would disagree with your definition of alleged>>

The monetary reward related to the DECN/J&J legal wranglings has always been a bit of a sideshow, and although important, is not the main reason for investing in DECN. If DECN should win significant money from J&J, it still might be tied up for a while as the different legal teams fight this out and it might be a while for the payment to come. If DECN would win and collect significant money from J&J, I would guess some of it would be paid to investors as a one time dividend above what management would feel their capital and R&D requirements are. This is the reason for the shorter term investment in DECN.

The longer term investment question is can DECN build a recurring revenue stream and profit from selling test strips and whatever product markets they decide to get into. This is really what J&J is fighting against because it can cause a great deal of harm to their test strip business overnight. If DECN can build a business on this, depending on the final number of shares outstanding, this can turn into a several dollar per share stock with some great rewards in the long term. We will have to see if DECN management is up to this task. I am betting that they are and am holding on to my shares.

There is a lot of information that is posted on this board that, to me, seems irrelevant. In my mind, these are the key questions about the stock that need examination for everyone. But that is just my take on the issue.
