The DEA does schedule drugs but not in a vacuum. They are part of the executive branch along with the Department of Veteran Affairs, The Justice department, and a ton of other agencies that may have an iron in the fire when it comes to rescheduling MJ. The only thing in common with these folks is that they all serve in the Executive Branch and they work for the president.

Obama has been releasing prisoners with convictions of small quantities of MJ. I'd guess everybody who works for him will sooner than later follow his lead in what ever capacity they own. It looks like the VA is on board. I'd bet the DEA will be also. But when they do it it will be to a chorus of righteous indignation from our home grown wacko's in congress

The only bee in the ointment I see is that we have a congress who for some reason likes to put a stick in the presidents spokes. They could pass a law making it illegal to even say MJ in a public place.

I'm not sure what the bible says about MJ but I'm sure some congress folks would read that it is actually the 'burning bush' and others would say it's the devil incarnate. Given our current wacko's in congress I'd bet on the latter being in the majority.

But regardless the tide is turning and for the time being we still live in a democracy - of sorts.
