An open market purchase would have signaled confidence... giving yourself options to buy stock near the 52 week low (flash crash day excepted) isn't exactly what I would call a bold move. At least they were not at a 80% discount to market price this time, so to be fair they are showing some limited improvement.

This is just more dilution for shareholders, but compared to the old stuff they did... it's fairly small potatoes.
