Time will tell. I fully realize that there are many out there who do not share our enthusiasm. A few may believe the FDA has one last CRL in its sleeve, but I think even more just can't get their arms around an implant. I mean, why have something foreign inserted into your body if you don't have to is the argument. And then there is the issue of whether insurance will cover it...why would they pay for a $2,000 implant when $3-$4 a day pills are available.

With opioid abuse, I think the thing critics are missing is that an addict's decision making is suspect to say the least. Someone seems fine one day, and a few hours later has succumbed to his addiction. Removing the element of personal choice will be highly attractive to anyone serious about ending their addiction.
