mogman, this is good news... for Cummins. However, Coates International is not mentioned in the "Business Wire" release although Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAD truck product lines are mentioned in a subsequent release issued by "The Street" as related to the D.O.E. grant to Cummins.
However, when "Cummins researchers will optimize the powertrain by selecting the engine with the best architecture", as mentioned in the "Business Wire" release, I do hope Coates will be considered.
But, as you know, D&R takes a long time as Cummins notes: "Cummins’ Research and Technology organization develops new technology six to 10 years, and sometimes longer, ahead of commercial production".
This gives George plenty of time to get into the act. (Surely it will not take him another 20 years.) Just wish Coats would receive a grant from the D.O.E. Maybe when George invests $700 million a year in D&R as Cummins did, he will. Hope George gets his foot in the door somewhere soon.
