When you look for the patent number 9299230 it shows you 2 reel frames or 2 dates

May 15, 2015: It says that 1 of 8 assigned properties was PUBLISHED Publication 20100261526 (Oct 14, 2010) HUMAN-COMPUTER USER INTERACTION and the OWNER is FACEBOOK since May 15, 2015.

Feb 28, 2014: It says that the Assigned Property Modular Exoskeletal Force Feedback Controller was PATENTED Patent 9299230 (Mar 29, 2016) and the OWNER is NOVINT since Feb 28, 2014.

If you say that the XIO was assigned to Facebook on May 15, 2015, Why when you open the patent 9299230 it says the owner is Novint and it was patented March 29, 2016.

Filed date is just the date when NOVINT wanted to patent their XIO hardware.

Prior Publication Data: the date when the patent was published to everyone but in a pending status. A1 code means this.

B2 code after the patent number means that the patent was granted or issued with a previous publication date.

So forget about Feb 28, 2014 and Facebook. It didn't happen back then.

I am trying to DD May 15, 2015. Everyone need to help on this.

But I think NOVINT sold or assigned the patent to Facebook on March 29, 2016.
