If you want to educate yourself about the patent wars, a good place to look is the Interdigital Communications ihub board, symbol (IDCC).

Interdigital derives the bulk of its revenue from patent licensing.
They spend many tens of millions of dollars every year enforcing their patents.

If you go to their message board and look for anything to do with PTAB. Congress made it easy for infringers to get patents invalidated with appeals to PTAB.

Even before PTAB, patent enforcement was an expensive proposition.

Pay particular attention to posts by Loophole (attorney), Ghors, (attorney) , Olddog (great researcher). Data Rox (technical), Mythreesons (court watcher).
