The world is composed of events that are functionally related. Some we can and will discern and some we will not.

The history of science is the history of our species striving to make sense out of what we observe and discover and to relate those observations and discoveries to other events. We have gotten better at it over the years but will eventually reach our limits, like any other species. I suspect those limits are some distance ahead and I need not worry about them.

My impression is the market is complex, but comprehensible within limits and that I, with study and work, can make money trading it. But it is not something I will ever fully grasp and I will occasionally fail, but hopefully I will learn from my mistakes and go forward. For I too am functionally related to the events I contact. And that is the way it has always been and will always be.

It is important to feel free and understand as best one can how the world operates because knowledge does contribute to a sense of freedom and control of one's life. However, it would be very unusual if humans were not part of the natural order of things and hence not functions of natural law, like the many other subjects of science over the years. So in essence, what I'm saying is we are part of nature and not separate from it, and hence our actions, including all the market players and bull and bear markets, are worthy subject matter for study by all interested students.

That means in different ways you and I.
