There are ethical issues that should control what is done in the name of science. Some of us remember the medical experiments carried out by the Nazis.

In regard to stem cells I understand that there is no hold on the use of umbilical cord stem cells(and there are a lot of these cells which are not harvested at this time) and autologous adult stem cells. With the latter I understand the rejection problems are overcome. A lot of media reports in my part of the world ignore these very important areas of research.
