Kurdish dissident: “The US is backing people who are worse for the Kurds than Assad”

In an exclusive interview with JerusalemOnline, Syrian Kurdish leader Sherkoh Abbas explained the current plight of the Kurds in Syria after the ceasefire agreement and Russia’s involvement in the region. He claimed that some of the groups backed by the US are worse for the Kurds than Assad based on their discourse.

In an exclusive interview with JerusalemOnline, Syrian Kurdish leader Sherkoh Abbas explained that Russia is going after the radical Islamists but their first priority is to strengthen Assad: “They are trying to shore up support for Assad and to keep him in power. Their secondary priority is the radical Islamists but it is not their main one.”
