Good post Ted and you make some very strong valid points about the expectations and problems the company has encountered going forward. Delays by TSA was uncontrollable as they were/are having their own issues with structure and performance. I think there is no doubt that the forces to damage and or destroy the company's momentum are seen on a daily basis, it's obvious the margins on the TSA contract were not all that we had hoped for but when you add in the install/service/consumables you can bump the numbers up. The fact that they were NOT THE LOWEST bidder tells you everything you really need to know, someone was willing to take the contract at a loss just to make sure ISC didn't get it and it didn't work. The greatest asset that ISC has and it has been mentioned before is also it's greatest weakness, small company's typically out innovate larger conglomerates because they are more focused, have less bureaucracy and can move quickly to adapt to change. I think McGann is obsessed with R&D not only because he is a scientist but he also knows how critical it will be to move the company forward after ECAC, TSA & others are filled during this round. The handheld is one thing,
the in line is another but I believe there is more they are working on with mass/spec. that they probably believe they can commercialize. For all accounts the QSB220 is a blockbuster but it is also a distribution process for a company so small, I fully expect the new handheld to be the same caliper product with potentially an even wider acceptance as it will now be fully capable. When they tell you (D. Jones), that they are excited about their prospects for law enforcement well then so am I. When you start to calculate the possibilities of prisons, border patrols, local law enforcement, military (domestic & foreign) the market is sizeable. When you realize not only what they have accomplished but just how severely they have damaged main competitors and continue to, you can appreciate the forces they are up against. All can say what they want about McGann & Jones but they are producing, the situation the company finds itself in was brewing long before either one of them got there. My hope is that they announce a strategic parnter, not a buyout at this point because the fuel that will keep this going is if they remain small and don't have the restrictions of being part of a larger conglomerate. DMRJ may still be a part of this picture, I just hope a much, much smaller part.
