Sometimes it's brokers. I glanced at this elderly woman's statement with Oppenheimer back in 2007. She had recently been sold $6000 worth of GNTA. I immediately recognized that as one of the biggest, well-known stock scams of the 90s - 00s. I asked her why on earth she had any of it. She said the broker told her it was peachy. LOL It's not just the idiots in retail, it's the scoundrels in the brokerages and wealth management concerns.
