iTALK Google merger or collaboration?

Some of us has stated over and over again the deal is about MVNO and it is! It was hard to connect the dots, but we suspected something big was coming from iTALK. Today's PR just confirm IMO our suspicion that iTalk is bigger than we all think.

The big news from the PR is here.
We are finalizing an agreement with a software company that specializes in wireless business solutions where we could potentially gain access and control of over 4,000 active accounts who are all considered customers

Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) is officially getting into the wireless business, and unwrapped its "Project Fi" MVNO in partnership with Sprint (NYSE: S) and T-Mobile US (NYSE:TMUS). The service will let customers dynamically switch between the carriers' LTE networks and Wi-Fi networks, and will also give customers credits for their unused mobile data, as had been expected.

Google taking a turn as an MVNO on the surface wouldn't seem all that special. But where things get more interesting is when you consider who owns America's existing MVNOs. AT&T, Inc. (T) -- America's second largest carrier -- owns Cricket Wireless. T-Mobile owns MetroPCS. And Sprint owns Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. That leaves StraightTalk as the only major MVNO that isn't owned by one of America's top four carriers. (StraightTalk is coowned by Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) and Tracfone, a subsidiary of Mexico's largest telecom company, América Móvil SAB de CV (AMX)). Thus as one of the only MVNO operators not already in the postpaid space, Google could potentially contend for the title of America's fifth or sixth largest carrier, depending how its offering fared versus StraightTalk. -
