Answers to a couple of your questions might be found here:

http://www.testnavqualified.com/download/DistrictInfo_Sphere3d_Glassware_2.0_TestNav7.5_Chromebooks.pdf

To become qualified for TestNav, GlassWare had to go through testing by Pearson. It also shows that GlassWare 2.0 meets at least minimum encryption of 128bit AES.

This site responds to the Active Directory question: http://sphere3d.com/sphere-3ds-glassware-2-0-compared-to-hypervisor-and-other-things-you-may-want-to-know/

"Q: Do you support Microsoft Active Directory?
A: Administrators can pull both “user” and “group” accounts from their existing Active Directory (AD) domains."

And here: http://sphere3d.com/glassware-2-0-management-technology/
addresses your API question:

"Glassware 2.0’s manager technology allows for administration from a web based UI, as well as a set of APIs that can be used to integrate Glassware 2.0’s other technologies into workflow based solutions such as portals."
