"Lets not forget that Mr. Bramfitt also wrote that the CCPS school district had deployed 30,000 Chromebooks using Glassware to deliver Windows apps. "

CCPS did indeed purchase 30,000 Chromebooks and at the time Mr. Bramfitt wrote his article they were in the process of testing GlassWare to solve their Windows apps problems. As I am sure you know, when dealing with governmental agencies things can get changed or delayed. This was expressed to me in an email from:

Brian D. Jones Assistant Director, Technology
Chesterfield County Public Schools

on May 12, 2015:

"I'm writing in response to your question concerning Sphere 3D's GlassWare product and our Chromebooks.  We have acquired a test environment server with the GlassWare product.  As I believe you are aware, one of the challenges in implementing a non-PC environment is in supporting career and technical education classes.  Many of these programs use specialized software to perform CADD, graphic design, video editing, Microsoft Office certification, etc.

For the next school year we will be investigating the opportunities provided by a number of companies to deliver non-Chrome programs to student Chromebooks.  We will continue to use our CTE labs next year as we look at the needs of individual courses and what opportunities are available. "

In a follow up email I asked if GlassWare did indeed virtualize the specialized software programs. He responded:

"We have been successful with several applications.  We are now in the process of assessing our virtualization needs."

So, as of last May they had not as yet come to any formal decision about what to use to solve their problems.
