Dow Rally Can Create Trader Profit

The Dow's latest rally will leave many traders feeling left out, and some feeling surprized. Why would they be surprized? Because they've now realized that they are where the action is at. These people are the players of the Dow Jones. In any typical rally, it will all start with the Dow Jones moving upwards, and all the Nasdaq techies will just brush it off as an "old folks" rally. Well, the Dow is going to produce more profitable trades than the Nasdaq will this year because the great Nasdaq hype period is over. It shouldn't be hard to find some winners in the Dow, because when the Dow moves, so do all the over actual profiting companies. Put down your PDA, tech boy, and buy some Dow movers. Here are some I've been watching.

Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE:CPQ)
Compaq Computer this morning citing continued weakness in end user demand in the overall PC market. Second-quarter EPS estimates went from 5 cents to 2 cents on sales of $8.6 billion, down from previous expectations of $9 billion. The revised revenue forecast reflects a 15-percent decline year-over-year. JP Morgan maintains a "buy" rating.

EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC)
Goldman Sachs hardware and software analyst Laura Congliaro cut her 2001 EPS and revenue growth forecast on EMC Corp. {EMC} this morning, seeing slowing in Europe with increased pricing pressures. Conigliaro slashed her revenue growth forecast for EMC to 14 percent for 2001, seeing earnings of 76 cents for the year, down from 81 cents.

Sprint FON Group (NYSE:FON)
Stock is depressed because of offering which will be used to finance business. Competition is growing in this sector aswell. Sprint has the strongest hold on the US market. Their current cash flow is growing rapidly.
