That is especially true when the people giving the testimonials or reports are paid consultants as was the case for Loch/CDEx.
"In court it was pointed out that the Quadro Detector had been carefully examined and that no "inductors, conductors, or oscillators" were found, though Quadro advertised those as the working parts of its "secret technology." Quadro claimed that theirs were not "ordinary" inductors, conductors, or oscillators. Theirs are of an advanced sort not yet known to "regular science."
Wouldn't that be like Loch/CDEx's discovery of a magical "low atmospheric absorption window for x-rays"; a physical phenomena overlooked by scientist for over a 100 years until discovered by Capnmike's nomination for the Nobel Prize, inventor Dr. Henry Blair?
(Remember Dr. Blair, the guy Dr. Poteet was quoted as being privileged to have the opportunity to work with. Remember Dr. Poteet, the guy that had forgotten that he was the actual inventor of the technology, his memory suddenly coming back to him after the SEC investigation had begun?)
How about Chuck Bagely's description of the Loch/CDEx tech as being like "a kind of new Tide" [laundry detergent]!
Or how about Loch/CDEx apologist, Ontheedge with his explanation for how ELF/EM-1 detected explosives using x-rays:
