Yes, I gathered that from skimming through Title VII.

Not only are the chemical precursors tracked and regulated, so is the laboratory apparatus. Try to buy a 4000 ml pyrex beaker without signing special parework!

Also, now days 'shade tree' (TM- detroit) chemists are utilizing different synthesis strategies in an attempt to circumvent the closely watched precursor chemicals used with the three standard cook methods.

I get calls occasionally asking if we sale chemicals like manganese dioxide. I'll tell them that we don't sell that chemical and refer them to a supplier that does. The caller will then ask if we can buy it and sell it to him with a mark up for profit. I say no without letting on that I know that chemical is a replacement for one of the hottest watched precusors in meth production.

There are many "replacement chemicals". They're not as common as those used in the standard cooks, but rest assured they're all being monitored closely these days.
