Wars and Gold Just Don't Get Along.

...Interesting how there was such an attempt to return to the anchor (the gold standard) after BOTH WWI and WWII. The politician's of the time understood the importance of a 'boat being held in a fixed place called an anchor'.

Well we cut loose from in the anchor in 1971 and the world has gradually spun out of control ever since. The Lost Dutchman--LOL

Question: What would the world be like today from an financial market standpoint if WWI and it's stepchild WWII had never happened?
