The Economist recently published two articles, Reinventing the Company and Reinventing the Deal, that are good reads. GrowLife’s original expansion strategy recognized this ‘reinvention’ and was on track to acquire strong startups with great talent in the budding industry. Valuable equity and readily accessible capital through a joint venture were in place prior to the SEC halt. Innovation is not limited to technology. Innovation is about disrupting large, fragmented business sectors, such as agriculture and indoor cultivation, with business automation. For example, Uber and Airbnb did not create personal transportation or bed and breakfast stays but automated their brokering.

The innovators are usually smart people rich with domain expertise but cash poor. Couple them with an agile and well-resourced company such as GrowLife and you can create an unstoppable partnership.
