Buzz Technologies, Inc. (OTCMKTS:BZTG) Investing in Marijuana

BZTG has been active in the financing of Marijuana stock for almost a year and has built a solid position in public and privately held Marijuana businesses in the “legal” states.

Equity Line Financing – is a type of funding that has been used successfully by BZTG to provide funding to Marijuana companies looking to raise capital for growth or acquisitions.

Companies are discovering that they can use this vehicle to access capital for acquisitions, working capital for expansion or even paying down debt.

The marijuana industry has explosive potential, but regulatory and organizational obstacles are looming in the next few years as the infant industry takes its first steps.

Marijuana Policy Project estimated that the marijuana industry was worth $1.7 billion in 2011, with the potential to grow to $8.9 billion by 2016. That could be a 523% growth rate in five years, resembling the growth of some of the explosive tech companies in the 2000s.

Currently, the agricultural and commercial sectors of the black market marijuana industry do very well: Marijuana is the first, second, or third-most expensive cash crop in all 50 states. At a relatively low cost of production, it is one of the most highly profitable crops in the country, mainly because of its current prohibitory status. (As the market opens, we can expect to see the price per kilogram fall.)

Equity Line Funding – is a funding structure that has been used by investors for the past ten years or so to provide funding to small and large companies looking to raise capital. It can be used by small or large companies and can be used in the United States, Africa, Europe and Australia. Its use has been widespread and seems to be growing, especially for companies listed in the US, Europe, Australia and Africa.

Private investors often provide companies with funding through this structure as part of a reverse merger or direct listing on a stock exchange. This can make it easier for companies to raise capital in a shorter time frame and with less cost.

Some private investment funds have become quite active and have become good funding sources for companies looking for capital through an Equity Line Funding Transaction. Some companies have raised substantial sums through these funding vehicles. I have drafted many equity line agreements for clients over the years and worked with corporate attorneys who have filed the registrations statements for their clients. Small and large companies, as well as non-US companies have raised capital through this funding structure.
