Nope, but I find it laughable they are going to make "safer" cannabinoid therapies. They are already the safest drugs possible.

In any case they are many many years from sale of a product. How is it funded till then?

If cannabis works for a condition, what benefit are they bringing over natural plant? Cannabis medicine works better than synthetic pharmaceuticals because it contains hundreds of complementary compounds. Trying to put the bio-synthetic pathway into bac or yeast is just stupid IMO. Missing the terpenes which are important for cannabinoid action.

These guys all come from the pharma world as it is colliding with patient driven medical cannabis. Pharma approach will fail against the proliferation of specialized genetics.

Just my opinion right now...

If they have some amazing improvement over natural cannabis shown in trials I will change my mind. Until then I just think it is a stupid idea. Cannabis is holistic medicine and trying to use a reductionist approach to drug development will fail compared to whole plant methods. millions of years of evolution has created the perfect healing plant. Even the waste from growing medicine has useful industrial purposes. Growing THC in vats is just stupid.
