As a native of Daugavpils, Latgale, I can say that this movie is an utterly stupid piece of abhorrent nonsense. Its authors have apparently never been to the region and know nothing about its people and its aspirations. What the supposed Latgalians say in the movie, how they speak, what they and the city look like has absolutely nothing to do with reality and looks worse than the Hollywood's stereotyped depiction of Russians. Those rebels can't even pronounce the name of the region correctly.
